Volunteers

Want to be a part of the Grand Forks County Historical Society?

Why not become a volunteer! We need help in all trades and can work
around your schedule from a few hours to days per month.

The GFCHS is looking for people who can help the Director and Board with tasks
involving museum operations and building and grounds maintenance.

Some of the tasks include:
• Post-card mailings
• Event set-up
• Management of membership lists and recruiting efforts

• Docent/Tour Guide work
• Website updates
• Cataloging of acquisitions
• Working on the upkeep of the Museum’s grounds

The Board is also looking for a person or persons who can assist with:
• Basic maintenance and repair work on our various structures (rough carpentry work, minor electrical repairs, painting and some seasonal grounds work.)

Volunteer’s Needed
Individuals who have the time and skills to assist us in either the operation of the
Museum or building and grounds maintenance should feel free to volunteer their
services.

Part Time Position(s)
Individuals interested in working, beyond the scope of a typical volunteer, should
contact the Board for consideration of a part time position.

Super Volunteers
Although many individuals donate their time and talent to the Grand Forks County Historical Society, we would like to recognize two super volunteers.

Vicki Ripplinger has donated her time and talent for many years. Vicki works tirelessly in many capacities including caring for our flowers and grounds. She also works with exhibit preparations and care of our museum buildings. Vicki is the cheerful lady setting up Christmas trees & ornaments or Halloween decorations. She does it all!

Bonnie Cameron has been donating time and talent to the GFCHS since the Museum opened in 1971. She is the cheerful lady greeting you at our Entertaining History Lecture events. Bonnie is the teacher educating and entertaining our children during School House Days. She loves to read to our children at Half Pint Haunt and during our Holiday Open House in December. Bonnies favorite place to be at the GFCHS is in the School House where she shares her knowledge of school in the “old days”.
