The schoolhouse was built in 1917 as a township hall and was converted to a school in the 1930s. It originally stood in Blooming Township, approximately twelve miles west of Grand Forks. It was moved to the grounds of the Grand Forks County Historical Society in 1981, in part to commemorate the centennial year of the Grand Forks Public School District.
